Tampa Golf Course Options

Tampa Bay is home to many Tampa golf course options for hardcore, intermediate, and beginner golfers from around the world.

Tee off at one of the areas golf and country clubs or spend the day on a public course. Reservations and driving directions can be easily sought online for any number of golf facilities in the area.

Private Courses

Tampa golf and country clubs offer golfers a private and luxurious place to golf filled with many amenities both on and off the course. Golfing at one of these clubs will cost extra compared to playing eighteen holes at a public course.

Many are welcoming to entire families and offer a wide range of activities along with some of the most pristine and well manicured courses in the country.

Begin the day at one of Tampa’s golf and country clubs in a golf practice facility, many of which are state of the art. Make sure to book a tee time in advanced and hit the Tampa golf course ready to go.

Many of the clubs in the area are nestled amidst Florida’s natural surroundings complete with ponds, cypress trees, surrounding wetlands and wildlife. Anonymity and privacy is afforded to all.

Off the course golfers and their families can hit a well equipped pro-shop on site, then relax while being served in a dining facility. Most clubs provide extra activities including pools, fitness centers and tennis courts. Various programs are offered for junior golfers as well as the novice.

Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club


Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club is rated as one of the best Tampa golf and country clubs. The club sports two championship courses, lakes, valleys, hills, ponds and a crop of healthy vegetation.

The South Course was designed by John Lehman, the 2006 Ryder Cup Captain and Kurt Sandness, a golf course architect. Golfers Digest rated this course in their top ten.

The North Course, also designed by Kurt Sandness, is a modern course with many elevation changes affording golfers wonderful views. Both courses have a course par of 72. 

Public Courses

On the lighter side, Tampa Bay has many public courses for the golf enthusiast to choose from to accommodate almost any budget. It’s always recommended that golfers call in advance to reserve their favorite tee time at any one of these courses.

Golfers can hit the fairway in the brilliant Florida sunshine for a round of nine or eighteen holes. Rental carts are available at most public courses as are driving ranges.

Before booking a tee time it’s a good idea to ask whether or not metal spikes are allowed on the course and what their signature hole is.

The Tides Golf Club is a highly rated public golf course in the Tampa Bay area. Golfers can overlook Boca Ciega Bay as they play the par 72 golf course. The atmosphere here is friendly and relaxed which adds to the club’s popularity.

The course comes complete with a newly added pond between holes 14 and 16. The course is soft spikes only and has clubs available for rent for both males and females. Proper dress is required in order to play a round.
