Tampa Airport Parking
There are a variety of Tampa airport
parking options at Tampa International Airport.
This is another reason that the airport is considered to be one of the best in
the nation.
Now after you have your
tickets taken care of, you will find that parking at the airport is
conveniently laid out
with many options. There
is
- valet parking
- short term parking
- long term parking
- economy parking
- parking in the cell phone
waiting lot
Valet Parking
Valet parking is the most convenient of
all the Tampa
airport parking
options.
You can drop off your car for valet
parking on the blue
curbside between the hours of 5:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Outside of
these hours you must drop off on
Level 5 of the Short Term garage.
I really don’t see what the advantage
of valet parking would
be if you have to drop off your car at the garage, but I guess there
could be
instances where it may be beneficial.
The cost for valet
parking is $2.00 per ½ hour with a $5
minimum. The
maximum amount that you
would have to pay per 24 hours is $25.
Short Term
Parking
Short term parking is another option
for Tampa
airport parking. The
garage for
short
term parking is located above
the terminal, which I love since you do not have
to cross any roads and the walking distance is reduced.
Parking for the first hour is free. After the first hour parking is $1.00 per
20
minutes. The maximum amount that you
would have to pay per 24 hours is $20.
Long Term
Parking
The long term parking garage is
located next to the terminal.
The Monorail takes you
to the terminal from level 5 of the
long term parking garage when you are ready to pick up your vehicle or
you can
walk to the terminal from level 2.
Parking
for the first hour is free. After the
first hour parking is $1.00 per 20 minutes with the maximum amount of
$15 per
24 hours. Economy
Parking
Economy
parking is the best
of all the Tampa
airport parking options if you are
going to be gone for more than a few days and saving money is more
important
than convenience.
The
economy parking garage is located away from the terminal. You will see signs for
economy parking when
entering the airport area.
Shuttles
run 24 hours a day with pickups scheduled every 3 to 7 minutes.
The rate
is $1.00 per 20 minutes with a 24 hour maximum of $9.
Cell
Phone Waiting Lot
Another
choice for temporary Tampa
airport parking is the cell phone waiting lot.
This is used if you are picking someone up from the
airport.
You
simply
wait for your party’s flight to arrive.
You can tell when the flight comes in by monitoring the
large flight
information board that they have in the parking lot.
Then
wait
for their call to know when they have their luggage and off you go to
pick them
up at the curb.
There
is
free Wi-Fi
in the parking lot so you can spend some time browsing the internet
or checking e-mail while waiting for their flight to arrive.
There
is
no charge for using this parking lot.
There
are
parking location reminder cards at the elevators in the garages or you
can get
them from the shuttle driver for Economy parking to help you remember
where you
parked.
If
you
forget where your car is located you can use the phones near the
elevator to
get help on finding your vehicle.
Disabled
parking is available on all levels of all the Tampa
airport parking garages and next to the
bus stops in the Economy Parking Lot.
So
there you
have it. These are
all of your airport
parking options. As
you can see you have
quite a few options. There
are
signs for all of the parking lots so just follow the signs and you
should have
no problem finding them. Plane
TicketsThere are a number of ways to save on your airfare
when booking your flights to Tampa.
I would highly recommend the Save on Airfare Secrets
guide
to help you. I have read other guides that were not really worth the
money but this one is pretty good. You can read my review
