Madeira Beach

Madeira Beach is situated on an island that’s two miles long. It’s famous for its astonishingly white sand and crystal blue waters. The beach is located in Pinellas County and boasts of a city with the same name. It’s a small town that has less than 5,000 inhabitants.

The whole of Madeira Beach Florida is mainly residential and there are no large industries or businesses. Quite a number of the residents have retired from working life and are content to spend their leisure time in the vicinity of the beach.

Johns Pass Village

This important village is at the heart of Madeira Beach Fl. Here’s where you’ll find a multitude of seafaring folks who have made Tampa Bay fishing their livelihood.

It’s a quaint retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. As a visitor, you’ll be intrigued by the numerous little shops that cater to the local villagers. You’re sure to find all sorts of antiques, arts and craft and jewelry that you can buy as a souvenir of your visit.

The Boardwalk in Johns Pass Village is a must see attraction that boasts a picturesque stroll. There are several restaurants that will tempt your taste buds. Be sure to sample some of the local cuisine, consisting of mouth watering seafood dishes. The catch is always fresh from the sea!

Vacation Rentals

Madeira Beach condos are available for rent if you’re planning on an extended holiday at this scenic spot. Rental rates range anywhere from $300 per week for a 1 bedroom place that’s away from the beach and sleeps 4 persons to a more up market and classy place for $1,250 per week.

Quite nicely furnished, this sort of accommodation is perfect if you’re aiming to have your meals outside or do some light cooking indoors. Otherwise, you may want to choose to stay at one of the Madeira Beach hotels.

Fabulous Resorts

Madeira Beach Resorts are ideal for a vacation stay as they are situated right smack on the beach. One of the more prominent resorts is Barefoot Beach Resort, a beachfront hotel that’s good value for money.

It’s clean with well maintained grounds and surprisingly close to Johns Pass Village. With an ocean facing room, you’ll wake up to the sound of the surf crashing on the beach and the sight of blue green sea inviting you for a swim.

You can take your morning breakfast on the balcony and watch the sunrise before changing into your bathing suits and diving into the water for a refreshing dip!

Attractions Not to Miss

Once you’ve decided to make the trip to this destination, there are a few attractions that you shouldn’t miss. The Pirate Ship at Johns Pass Village is a great draw for kids and will thrill your children no end.

The ship itself doesn’t leave the bay but the kids get to experience what it’s like to be aboard a pirate ship. They’ll be armed with water pistols and running around the decks like the real Black Beard!

The Dolphin Quest is another attraction that you should try not to forego. You’ll be aboard a boat and off to cruise the sea to search for dolphins. It’s very likely that the boat will take a route that will let you get real close to some very friendly dolphins.

The best part about this tour is that if you don’t sight any dolphins on your first trip, you get to go on your next trip for free!
