Adventure Island Tampa

While in Tampa, be sure to check out Adventure Island conveniently located across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

To spend the day at the water park costs adults $35.95 and children ages 3-9 cost $33.95. Children under two are admitted for free.

Adventure Island of Tampa is an island themed water park that offers a day filled with fun, adventure and relaxation to the whole family.

Upon entering the park, visitors get an instant taste of the Florida Keys and its relaxed atmosphere. Nestled on thirty acres, the water park provides a haven for families that love spending time in the sun, splashing around in a pool of waves and catching thrills on one of the parks many waterslides.

Rides

The hardest part of visiting the park may be choosing which of the parks ten rides to go on first.

Adventure Island of Tampa has plenty of rides to meet every sense of adventure. The water park is home to Florida’s first four lane-mat slide. Up to four friends can race one another down a fifty-five foot drop and around a hair-pin turn.

The Calypso Coaster is a water drenching thrill ride that can hold up to two people at a time. After soaring through the open flume, riders cruise into the Rambling Bayou River.

The Wahoo Run is a family oriented ride that splashes and curves through a water flume at over fifteen feet per second. The ride accommodates up to five people at a time sending them through a six-hundred foot partial tunnel and soaking them under four waterfall curtains before coming to an end in a splash pool.

Though there is something fun for the whole family, each ride has its own height and age requirements to keep all park goers safe.

Attractions

Visitors to Adventure Island of Tampa can take a break from the rides and hit up any of the six attractions the water park offers.

A popular attraction is the 17,000 foot wave pool called the Endless Surf. Waves grow up to five feet high and roll across the pool every few minutes. Tubes are permitted in the pool.

The Paradise Lagoon is something the entire family can enjoy together. The lagoon is action packed with slides, waterfalls, a pool, vines to swing on and a twenty foot cliff to jump off of. This attraction spreads itself out over nine thousand square feet of the park.

Dining Options

Food is always part of the adventure. Busch Gardens Africa’s sister water park has five dining options to choose from.

Visitors can opt for the All Day Dining Deal accepted at participating restaurants in the park and only available for purchase online. Adults eat for $24.99 and children for $14.99.

Dine on pizza and chicken strips, grab a sandwich or choose from one of the many other menu items available. Top everything off with an ice-cream, snack or cool beverage while lounging in a private cabana.

Need a pair of goggles, sunscreen or sandals? How about a trinket or souvenir to bring home? The water park is complete with a gift shop selling name brand products and other gift items.
